Mehdi Taghipour, M.D.

Mehdi Taghipour, M.D is an interventional radiologist specializing in minimally invasive, image-guided treatments for vascular conditions and cancer-related diseases. His clinical expertise includes interventional radiology, interventional oncology, oncologic imaging, and MR-guided interventions, allowing him to provide advanced treatment options tailored to each patient’s needs.

Dr. Taghipour earned his medical degree from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (SUMS) in Shiraz, Iran. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and Harbor Hospital Center, followed by radiology residency training at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County and Albert Einstein Medical Center. During his residency, he participated in the Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR) pathway and served as Chief Resident, demonstrating his leadership and commitment to clinical excellence.

He went on to complete fellowship training in Interventional Radiology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where he further advanced his expertise in minimally invasive image-guided procedures and interventional oncology.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Taghipour has been recognized for his research and academic contributions, receiving multiple honors from the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) and the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI). He remains actively involved in advancing the field of interventional radiology through research, education, and professional engagement.
