Millions of women live with uterine fibroids, often enduring symptoms for years before discovering all of their treatment options. That’s why USA Fibroid Centers is proud to feature Shereé Whitfield in our new vlog series, Shereé Whitfield: An Unfiltered Fibroid Story, where she shares her personal experience with fibroids and her journey to finding relief through Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE).
From Reality TV Icon to Women’s Health Advocate
Shereé Whitfield is best known as an original cast member of Bravo’s hit reality series, The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA). Since joining the show’s inaugural season in 2008, she has become one of the franchise’s most recognizable personalities, admired for her confidence, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Beyond reality television, Shereé is the founder of SHE by Shereé, a lifestyle and athleisure brand that reflects her passion for fashion, wellness, and fitness. Over the years, viewers have watched her navigate business ventures, family life, and personal challenges with authenticity and determination.
Today, she is bringing that same transparency to a subject that affects millions of women: uterine fibroids.
A Journey Many Women Understand
Like so many women, Shereé spent years dealing with fibroids without knowing about all of the available treatment options. In her new vlog series, she talks about the frustration of searching for answers and the importance of being your own advocate in healthcare.
“As a woman, I would get a second and third opinion,” says Whitfield. “A lot of times we’ve been with our gynecologists for years, and we trust them to always have our best interests at heart. But it’s important to explore all your options.”
Her message resonates with countless women who have faced difficult decisions regarding their fibroid treatment.
Discovering UFE
Shereé’s path to treatment began unexpectedly through a conversation with a friend and fellow Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member, Cynthia Bailey, who had undergone UFE herself.
After hearing positive experiences from women she trusted, Shereé decided to learn more about the procedure.
“I made the decision to have UFE very recently,” she shares. “I had been going back and forth to doctors, and no one had ever offered me this procedure. After talking with women who had gone through it and hearing how life-changing it was for them, I realized I needed to learn more.”
That research ultimately led her to USA Fibroid Centers, where she underwent UFE, a minimally invasive treatment performed by interventional radiologists that treats fibroids while preserving the uterus.
Why Shereé Is Sharing Her Story
For Shereé, telling her story isn’t just about her own health journey. It’s about helping other women feel empowered to ask questions, seek additional opinions, and educate themselves about their treatment choices.
Far too often, women suffer from symptoms such as:
- Heavy menstrual bleeding
- Pelvic pain and pressure
- Fatigue
- Bloating
- Frequent urination
- Pain during daily activities
Many may not realize that non-surgical treatment options are available.
Through candid conversations and personal reflections, Shereé Whitfield: An Unfiltered Fibroid Story provides an honest look at the impact fibroids can have on daily life while offering valuable information about diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
