A Relatable Struggle
Johnson’s fibroid journey began in 2013 when she experienced sharp pains in her lower abdomen. Despite undergoing a myomectomy, the non-cancerous growths have returned and are causing her even more severe symptoms.
“Who wants a hysterectomy when you may want kids again?” Johnson shares in the vlog. “I know there is somebody who’s going through what I’m going through and is tired of doing surgery.”
The Importance of UFE
Dr. Yan Katsnelson, founder and CEO of USA Fibroid Centers, emphasizes the importance of informed decision-making regarding fibroid treatment. Uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) is a minimally invasive procedure that offers a non-surgical solution for many women suffering from fibroids.
“Many women we see have experienced fibroid recurrence after myomectomy,” Dr. Katsnelson noted. “They’re seeking a non-surgical solution that provides lasting relief.”
