USA Fibroid Centers Presents: Sister’s Brunch – A Celebration of Fibroid Awareness

USA Fibroid Centers was honored to sponsor the Fibroid Fighters Foundation’s empowering awareness event, “Sister’s Brunch.” This impactful gathering, hosted by celebrity makeup artist Kym Lee and bestselling author and Women’s Life Coach Ella Destiny, aimed to educate and support women affected by fibroids. Both women, who have faced their own struggles with fibroids, are passionate advocates for raising awareness and helping others recognize symptoms and explore treatment options.

The event featured a classic Southern brunch, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for attendees to connect. R&B singer Kenny Sway opened the program with a captivating musical performance, setting the stage for an afternoon of inspiration and empowerment. A panel discussion followed, where fibroid survivors courageously shared their stories of resilience and triumph, alongside insights from medical professionals and patient advocates. Attendees had the opportunity to engage in open conversations, dispel myths, and find support among women who understand their journey.

A strong advocate for Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) as a less invasive alternative to hysterectomy, Dr. Katsnelson highlighted the importance of preserving fertility and improving quality of life through effective, non-surgical options. Kym Lee echoed this sentiment, sharing how her hysterectomy deeply affected her: “I feel as if something was taken from me as a woman.” Her personal experience led her to launch her Instagram Live series, Talk About “U”, where she interviews celebrities, political figures, physicians, and fibroid survivors to spread awareness and provide valuable insights.

Coach Ella Destiny also shared her journey, detailing how fibroids led her to 11 abdominal surgeries and, ultimately, a hysterectomy. Her struggles inspired her to write the best-selling book, “There’s Nothing Wrong with Saying So What.” She passionately believes in breaking the generational silence around fibroids, stating, “We need to educate our young women and make them aware that there are options; you don’t have to have a hysterectomy, and you can still have children.”

To continue the fight for fibroid awareness, Fibroid Fighters has been a dedicated supporter of the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Uterine Fibroid Research and Education Act, which has been reintroduced as The Uterine Fibroid Intervention and Gynecological Health and Treatment Act (U-FIGHT Act) to encourage federal funding for research and treatment advancements.
