Fibroid Awareness Month is a time to learn more about fibroids and raise awareness about this important women’s health issue. Greater awareness can help more women get the diagnosis and treatment they need—sooner.
Fibroids are common, yet many women don’t know about them or recognize the symptoms. These non-cancerous growths can develop in or on the uterus and may impact daily life, fertility, and overall well-being.
Why Awareness Matters
Uterine fibroid disease is the leading cause of hysterectomies, with one in three women undergoing the procedure by age 60. Despite this, many women are unaware that non-surgical treatment options exist.
At USA Fibroid Centers, we specialize in uterine fibroid embolization (UFE)—a minimally invasive treatment that preserves the uterus and allows for faster recovery with fewer risks than traditional surgery.
