Northbrook, IL. May 31, 2024- A radio broadcast on the Public News Service brought together Dr. Yan Katsnelson, Founder and CEO of USA Fibroid Centers, Malorie Bailey, a USA Fibroid Centers’ UFE patient, and Dr. Jacob White, Medical Director at the USA Fibroid Centers, for a conversation about fibroids.
An estimated 26 million women in the United States have uterine fibroids, according to health experts. Despite their prevalence, many women remain unaware of these benign uterine growths.
“Fibroids are extremely common,” says Dr. Yan Katsnelson. However, they shouldn’t limit anyone from living life to its fullest potential.”
While some women experience no symptoms, others face heavy bleeding, frequent urination, and pain.
Malorie Bailey shared her experience. “I refused a hysterectomy,” Bailey recounted. “But the bleeding worsened, forcing me to change pads every 10 minutes.”
Hysterectomy has been the primary go-to treatment option recommended to most women with fibroids. However, Dr. Jacob White, emphasizes the importance of exploring minimally invasive options like uterine fibroid embolization (UFE)..
“You have to be your own advocate,” Dr. White advises. Research and get second opinions so you know all your options.”
Raising awareness for better understanding and treatment continues.
